  1. Discrimination can take place before, during & after employment & latest figures show an increase in all protected areas of the Equality Act 2010.  Awards can be unlimited!!
  2. The maximum amount that you can be awarded as compensation for Unfair Dismissal is presently the statutory cap of £88,519, or 52 weeks gross salary- whichever is the lower. This is in addition to the basic award which can be ordered by the Tribunal of up to a maximum of £16,140. These figures are from 6th April 2020.
  3. There is no default retirement age anymore and was stopped on 1st October 2011 unless you can objectively justify it. Examples could include air traffic controllers and police officers.
  4. Failure to consult correctly when making Redundancies can result in a Protected Pay award of 90 days pay?
  5. When employees are on Furlough they are allowed to do work training, as long as they are not making money for their employer?

  9. The ACAS Code of Practice is used at all times to set the minimum standard of fairness that workplaces should follow & which an Employment Tribunal will use when deciding an outcome.
